Bellingham Trout Hatchery
Located at Whatcom Falls Park, Bellingham, (360) 676-2138. Raises Rainbow Trout and some species of native salmon, which are used to stock sport fishing lakes. Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm. Kendall Creek Hatchery
Located at: 6263 Mt. Baker Hwy, Deming, (360) 599-2841. The hatchery raises three varieties of salmon as well as steel head, rainbow and cutthroat trout. The ponds are full January through May. Visitors can see adults spawning in October and November. The hatchery is also an excellent spot for viewing Bald Eagles December through early February. Daily 8am-4:30pm. Marine Life Center
Located at the Harbor Center at Squalicum Harbor. 1801 Roeder Ave, Bellingham, (360) 671-2431. Watch fish swim around sea stars, urchins, sea cucumbers, and starry flounders in an observation pool. Pick up sea anemones, sea stars, shells, and crabs in the touch pool. View other sealife in smaller aquariums. Open 8am-sunset. Free/donations. Maritime Heritage Center
