Glen Echo Garden

A private garden on 16 acres, formerly the site of a lumber mill. Open Mon.-Sat., 10am-5pm (Spring through Fall). For Dick Bosch, his garden is always a work in progress. He was a professional landscaper for 40 years before retiring to work on Glen Echo Garden for the public to enjoy. Fees: $7.50 / $6 seniors and students. Big Rock Garden of Art

Bellingham Parks and Recreation. Nestled in a grove of evergreens above Lake Whatcom sits this unique City Park blending native plants with original sculptures. Rhododendrons bloom in spring and maples show their varied colors throughout the growing season. In 2007, The Korean War Childrens’ Memorial was built, a pagoda-style timber and tile structure honoring the young men and women who provided humanitarian aid. Peace Arch State Park

WA State Parks. This state park lies on the boundary of the United States and Canada. The main feature is the impressive 67-foot arch that straddles the Border, commemorating peace between the nations that arose from the war of 1812. During summer months, view flower gardens and a sculpture collection. A picnic facility is available. Located it: I-5 Exit 276, Blaine, WA. Open daily 8 am-dusk. Fragrance Garden at Tennant Lake

Whatcom County Parks. Features a raised-bed garden with a variety of fragrant herbal plants. Adjacent, a 1-mile boardwalk meanders on the wetlands of Tennant Lake. Cornwall Park Rose Garden
